TOPIC: Remembering the Human in 'Human Spaceflight'

SPEAKER: David Rubin

David Rubin - For fifteen years David has worked for a NASA contractor based out of the the Johnson Space Center. He has served as a biomedical flight controller for the International Space Station program and currently works as a project manager for human health and performance efforts required to return humans to the moon and, eventually, send them to Mars.

Regardless of what industry we belong to, at some point the products we create, or the systems we use to create them, will come in contact with a human. For a project to be successful, the project team must be knowledgeable about the capabilities and limitations of the humans with which the product will eventually interface, from design to manufacturing to use. This presentation will provide you with an overview of how NASA approaches human-centered design and examples of why this is so critical to success in human spaceflight.

This is a community meeting designed for PMI Chapter members in the Asheville metro area
