Reconciling Differences

The Article Club is like a Book Club but much shorter reads!

Join us for a fun and interactive discussion on our first Article in the Article Club:  Reconciling Differences

This article is about joining traditional and agile approaches with success. Here's the opening blurb to give you a taste of the topic...

"ON THE SURFACE, project management and agile development processes seem to bump heads. However, the two can be happily married to produce impressive offspring: In 2003, Shine Technologies found 93 percent of its clients reported improved productivity as a result of using agile methods, 88 percent found the quality of software applications better and 83 percent experienced better business satisfaction with the results, but also that agile methods should be utilized at least 88.5 percent of the time."

You can find the article by following this link and then logging into the PMI.org website.

If you don't have time to read online prior to the meeting, I will have a couple print-outs to share for a quick read prior to our discussion.

Arrive between 5:30 - 6:00 for beverages (wine down Wednesday pricing) and meeting discussion begins at 6:00.  If you haven't been to Trilogy's Foundry before, you will be impressed.

It is a nice venue and if it is nice outside we may get a spot on the terrace.  Come join us - it is a FREE meeting.

This is a working meeting designed for PMI Chapter members north of the city including Lake Norman, Denver and Mount Holly.

Community Chapter Meeting

As a means of helping chapter and local community members who are certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) satisfy the continuing education requirements for re-certification, PMI Metrolina Chapter arranges its monthly meeting schedule to allow a 1 hour PDU training session to be incorporated into its normal meeting.

Topics presented during these sessions are designed to not only satisfy the PDU requirement for re-certifying as a PMP, but to also provide wide appeal to people involved in project management regardless of whether or not they are certified PMPs. The 1-hour sessions meet the educational requirements to qualify for 1 PDU credits for maintaining PMP® certification or to meet the requirement for attending 35 hours of formal project management education prior to applying to sit for the PMP® exam.

The sessions are open to all.
