TOPIC: Scrum Yoga

SPEAKER: Paul Naso

Paul is a new member with PMI and has an interest in sharing his passion and experience for both project management and yoga.  He is equally experienced in both practices and has been successful in incorporating both.  He has been practicing yoga for over 15 years, is a certified instructor by Yoga Alliance, and teaches at various YMCA's in Charlotte and Carmel Club.

After 10 years as a student, he completed 200 hours of teacher training to become certified in Vinyasa Yoga through Yoga Alliance. Through this experience, he has learned to further appreciate the ability to turn on the mind, body, and spirit connection. As a result, he has continued to practice yoga on his personal journey toward a better life. This has helped to navigate stressful and challenging moments and stay centered during his professional career in Information Technology Management.

He has allowed his enthusiasm, inquisitiveness, and steady calmness to flow through his ever changing and evolving practice and look forward to sharing this with others on and off the mat.  Including offering private, customized programs for corporations, business executives, and leaders at all levels.

In addition, He is a professional with over 20 years of experience both as an individual contributor and executive for various Information Technology solution providers in the global marketplace. Prior roles include Developer/System Engineer, Account Manager, Project/Program Manager, VP of Sales and Marketing, and Partner. Experience across a wide range of vertical industry sectors with public, private, and government organizations including early stage through Fortune 50 enterprises.

Discussion: The process where the principals of yoga and agile project management meet.

This is a working meeting designed for PMI Chapter members south of the city including Ballantyne.

Community Chapter Meeting

As a means of helping chapter and local community members who are certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) satisfy the continuing education requirements for re-certification, PMI Metrolina Chapter arranges its monthly meeting schedule to allow a 1 hour PDU training session to be incorporated into its normal meeting.

Topics presented during these sessions are designed to not only satisfy the PDU requirement for re-certifying as a PMP, but to also provide wide appeal to people involved in project management regardless of whether or not they are certified PMPs. The 1-hour sessions meet the educational requirements to qualify for 1 PDU credits for maintaining PMP® certification or to meet the requirement for attending 35 hours of formal project management education prior to applying to sit for the PMP® exam.

The sessions are open to all.
