TOPIC: Roundtable - 2018 Strategic Planning meeting

This meeting is to discuss and plan the operation and management of the community, as well as to lay out the desired content of the year's meetings. Please review your Programs Handbook for venue considerations, speaker management, and meeting expectations.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend and contribute their thoughts and ideas. This is your chapter and we need to know what is important to you!


Each community meets approximately 11 times during the year:
  • One (1) speaker per quarter = 4 meetings
    • By reducing the number, we should be able to get better speakers by paying some sort of a stipend for services – beyond travel and dinner
  • Two (2) roundtable/panel discussions per year = 2 meetings
    • Topics taken from PMI Thought Leadership series or any of PMI’s publications
    • Review and discussion of selected videos from ProjectManagement.com or articles from PMI Featured Topics
  • Two (2) training events per year = 2 meeting
    • Refresher like Code of Ethics/Professional Conduct
    • ACP, BA, RMP, etc. prep classes/study group sessions
  • Two (2) networking events per year = 2 meetings
    • At least one (1) with a different community
    • Could include end of year/holiday dinner
  • One (1) community option (no speaker) = 1 meeting
    • Roundtable, training, networking, or summer break
  • One (1) charitable/volunteer event per year = 1 meeting
    • This one is a MUST and cannot be replaced or skipped
    • Can take the place of one meeting

This is a working meeting designed for PMI Chapter members in the Fayetteville metro area.

Community Chapter Meeting 

As a means of helping chapter and local community members who are certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) satisfy the continuing education requirements for re-certification, PMI Metrolina Chapter arranges its monthly meeting schedule to allow a 1 hour PDU training session to be incorporated into its normal meeting.

Topics presented during these sessions are designed to not only satisfy the PDU requirement for re-certifying as a PMP, but to also provide wide appeal to people involved in project management regardless of whether or not they are certified PMPs. The 1-hour sessions meet the educational requirements to qualify for 1 PDU credits for maintaining PMP® certification or to meet the requirement for attending 35 hours of formal project management education prior to applying to sit for the PMP® exam.

The sessions are open to all.
