TOPIC: Bridging Company Strategy to Deliverables

SPEAKER: Pat MacFarland

Many companies have well-developed processes to create strategies and communications in over-drive to educate the organization on the rationale. These are important elements to realizing a strategy but not sufficient by themselves.

As Program Manager, Strategic Objectives for Volvo Construction Equipment, Pat MacFarland was involved in developing the next vital link to achieving strategic objectives – working with ‘owners’ to turn the high level goals into workable plans with a consistent follow-up process. This presentation will provide you with a view of how one company drove execution of their strategy and the outcomes that resulted.

A former chartered accountant and PMP since 2004, Pat has been actively involved in project management for 15 years. Her experience ranges from systems implementation and product development to post-acquisition integration and strategic execution. Industry experience runs from small business to multi-nationals in the high-technology and construction equipment manufacturing, sales and service.

This is a community meeting designed for PMI Chapter members in the Asheville metro area

Community Chapter Meeting

As a means of helping chapter and local community members who are certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP®) satisfy the continuing education requirements for re-certification, PMI Metrolina Chapter arranges its monthly meeting schedule to allow a 1 hour PDU training session to be incorporated into its normal meeting.

Topics presented during these sessions are designed to not only satisfy the PDU requirement for re-certifying as a PMP, but to also provide wide appeal to people involved in project management regardless of whether or not they are certified PMPs. The 1-hour sessions meet the educational requirements to qualify for 1 PDU credits for maintaining PMP® certification or to meet the requirement for attending 35 hours of formal project management education prior to applying to sit for the PMP® exam.

The sessions are open to all.
