Election for 2014 Board of Directors - Update

John and Joseph will begin to shadow their predecessors in order to better understand the roles and responsibilities between September 1st and the end of the year.

Fall 2013 PMP® and PMI-ACP® Prep Course

This fall, the PMI Metrolina Chapter is offering two certification training courses -  PMP® Prep Course and PMI-ACP® Prep Course. Both classes are being held at the Northeastern University - Charlotte campus.

Fall 2013 PMP® Prep Course
• Starts on Saturday, September 28th and be held every Saturday for five weeks.
• Class hours will be 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a one hour break for lunch.
• Classes will be taught at Northeastern University - Charlotte campus located at 101 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC, 28208.
• PMI Metrolina Chapter Member Price: $695
• Non-Chapter Member Price: $845
• Existing PMPs can earn 35 PDUs for attending the course.
• Covers “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide)—Fifth Edition” for the PMP® exam which was updated on 31 July 2013.

Fall 2013 PMI-ACP® Prep Course
• Starts on Saturday, September 28th and be held every Saturday for three weeks.
• Class hours will be 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM with a one hour break for lunch.
• Classes will be taught at Northeastern University - Charlotte campus located at 101 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC, 28208.
• PMI Metrolina Chapter Member Price: $695
• Non-Chapter Member Price: $845
• Existing PMI-ACPs can earn 21 PDUs for attending the course.
• Covers material relevant to the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification exam. (see note below).

(Please note the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)® certification exam was not revised due to the release of the updated standards. After careful review of the PMI-ACP certification exam PMI determined the existing content continues to be relevant and consistent with the knowledge and foundation required of agile practitioners.)

2013 Professional Development Day

This year’s PDD will be on Saturday, September 21st and feature several exciting changes and updates. First, we have a wonderful keynote speaker in Anthony Reed who is an accomplished businessman and marathoner. Not only has he finished more than 140 marathons covering all 7 continents but he and his family all survived the Boston Marathon bombings unharmed. He will share his lessons of endurance and hard work from running marathons and how those translate into managing projects. All day participants will also receive a copy of his book for an opportunity to earn additional self-directed PDUs. There are 4 tracks of session speakers this year covering job seekers, credential seekers, agile seekers and advanced knowledge seekers.
